Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act

The Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act passed this summer requires that advertising of products whose packaging requires a cautionary statement under Section 24(a) or (b) of the Federal Hazardous Substance Act (products containing small parts, small balls, marbles or balloons) must bear the same cautionary statement, if that advertising provides a direct means for purchase or order of the product.  This provision of the CPSIA goes into effect December 12, 2008 for internet advertising.  Printed catalogs will need to include cautionary statements by February 10, 2009.

Suppliers are required to provide their customers with a list of products that require cautionary statements.  Below is a list of Middleton Doll products which require the Small Parts warning.
