Angela Dugan

As a toddler Angela always remembered wanting her mom to draw ballerinas for her because she was so good at it. Soon, she began copying her drawings, which led to copying everything else. In kindergarten, Angela’s teachers encouraged her to display her drawings. One year, she sketched a picture of her younger sister and turned it into a paper doll with multiple fashions to fit. When Angela was around eight years old, she began sewing clothes for her dolls by hand with whatever materials she could find.
About fifteen years ago, Angela discovered polymer clay and began creating everything she could imagine, including cake tops. But, with the devastating loss of her sister six years ago, she lost the will to create. Later, Angela finally realized that her sister never would have wanted her to stop creating and began sculpting again. Soon afterwards she won first place in the advanced division of Jack Johnston’s ProSculpt Scholarship contest for her full body portrait sculpt of her little sister “Gabrielle” on her wedding day.
Angela has been making invaluable contacts in the doll industry and has been rubbing shoulders with the worlds finest doll makers and sculptors. All of her hard work and dedication was recognized in 2007 when she was awarded the DOTY Industry’s Choice award for “Fresh Little Papa’s”, a portrait sculpt of her son, Manny as a baby.
