As an adult, Martina Swat had a renewed connection to dolls after finding her first childhood doll in her parent’s guest room. She soon began collecting old dolls and questioned how they were manufactured. She quickly enrolled in a porcelain doll-training event.
Martina was excited with her newfound hobby. She obtained necessary materials and often worked late into the night molding dolls. Soon, she made her way into exhibitions and started winning awards.
Martina finds creating dolls peaceful and finds it most relaxing to work without pressures or guidelines. “The only set premises is whether it be a waking or sleeping child. I let my hands to the rest. Often times, the end result is really overwhelming with respect to genuineness and charisma.”
