Michelle Fagan grew up in New York with one younger sister. After getting married in 1989, she and her husband decided to move to the Carolinas. They have two children, Autumn and Matthew.
Growing up, Michelle was lucky enough to live in a close-knit family with many talented and creative members. Michelle fondly remembers the hand made clothes that her grandmothers and aunts used to sew and knit for her dolls. Both her Grandmothers were talented painters. Some of Michelle's favorite things to do as a child were to draw and make paper dolls. Michelle grew up playing with dolls and it wasn't until her late teen years that she started purchasing and collecting dolls.
Michelle loved to go to local doll shows. "It was there that I saw a one of a kind baby. After that, I knew I wanted to sculpt something as beautiful," she says. She tried her hand at sculpting dolls here and there, but was never really able to get he hang of it. So, she decided to take a workshop with doll artist Rita Rich. It really set her on the path towards creating her first one of a kind baby. "I love sculpting each and every baby from start to finish." |
